Pair of early C19th mahogany pedestal cabinets of classical architecturally-inspired design.
Elegant pair of pedestal cabinets fitted with panelled doors enclosing a sleeved interior. The stepped tops with a dentil moulding beneath, the uprights with carved circular paterae detailing with classical guttae below .
The rectangular panelled doors with ebony line inlaid detail and moulded edge detail to the door-frames . Each raised on a stepped plinth base . Both having original working locks and keys
In excellent original condition with minor historical marks and dents commensurate with age, use and purpose. The figured mahogany having achieved a rich colour and patina.
Probably originally designed to be used as dining room pedestals, but would work equally well to display sculpture or perhaps as high bedside cupboards.
