Early C19th William IV oak library table of broad scale and proportions.
Raised on scroll leaf-carved end supports joined by a turned stretcher, having compressed bun feet with concealed brass castors beneath.
The frieze to one side fitted two �blind� drawers with a central rectangular tablet carved with an acorn and oak leaves . The verso of corresponding design with panelled �dummy� drawers. The ends of the friezes with reserve panels, the moulded edge top with rounded corners.
The figured oak top with minor marks and stains commensurate with age , use and purpose. The whole having achieved a mellow colour and patina, has been sympathetically cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
Unusually constructed entirely in oak , perhaps made as a bespoke order from an estate oak tree .
