Interesting and rare early C19th maple-framed divided 2-section mirror with a reverse glass print above depicting an American and British naval engagement.
The silvered mirror plate within the figured burr maple moulded-profile frame surrounded by gilt slips . The top panel with a reverse glass print depicting naval �Men o� War� ships in full sail ,engaged in battle, flying the �The Stars and Stripes� flag and the British Ensign respectively.
The image probably depicts a naval engagement during either the American War of Independence or �The War of 1812� between the two nations .
The verso fitted with the original backboards.
In excellent original condition with no damage or repairs.
