Matched ‘pair’ of late C19th Liberty & Co. Moorish style octagonal occasional tables .
Complementary pair of varying design with multiple complex inlaid designs of walnut , fruitwood , nacre-shell and abalone. The sides of arcaded form in the style of ‘Moorish’ or Levantine architecture with parquetry work and abalone panels.
The inset top of one table having a geometric inlaid design with multiple roundels of fruitwood and shell , the other table having an inlaid scripted shell Bismillah tughra , set within a star surround .
The form and design of these tables undoubtedly lead to the attribution of Liberty & Co ,London , who commissioned, stocked and sold these tables from their fashionable ‘Eastern Bazaar’ range and basement department.
Both tables in excellent original condition with no damage or losses . One table of marginally larger proportions.
