Late C19th Indian ivory-inlaid 'shisham'(Indian rosewood) octagonal table on hinged folding base . Profusely ivory-inlaid top-quality table with ebony/ivory chevron edge . Foliate leaf and vine trailing designs with a central ring surrounded by a most unusual ring of 'open work' carved ivory. Panelled and arcaded base with ivory inlay and chevron decoration . Bears paper label on both parts for "Ohri Brothers ,Hoshiarpur , N. India ". Hoshiarpur, in the Punjab, was a centre for the production of these fashionable exotic 'Moorish' style wares as marketed by the likes of Liberty and Tiffany . An outstanding example of good scale , and in great condition .W 24 " H 24". India c 1890.
