Fine C19th Regency period brass-inlaid rosewood duo of desk casket and book-carry / tray.
Superior quality desk-top accessories comprising of a fine balustraded or 'spindle-sided' casket with decorative brass-inlaid panel to lid , and an 'en suite' shallow tray / desk tidy with decorative brass-inlaid sides and brass-strung edge.
The casket of free-standing design with polished interior , standing on compressed bun feet. Beaded edge to the hinged lid and to the base, together with original key. The tray with corresponding finely-turned spindle handles. Both in excellent original condition ,and with a wonderful patina to well-chosen figured timber, in the manner of Gillows of Lancaster.
