Description

C18th George II period 'red walnut' chest-on-chest. Mid C18th tall-boy chest constructed in Virginia walnut , in excellent original condition and retaining all original brass-work . Solid back-plate handles and shaped escutcheons , with brass pulls to the brushing-slide. The top section fitted 3 short frieze drawers over3 long drawers. The lower section fitted 3 long drawers beneath the slide. Simple moulded cornice with a flat boarded top , the sides with reeded canted corners . All drawers with moulded edges and oak-lined throughout , the whole raised on substantial bracket feet. Outstanding rich ,warm patina and colour .Cleaned and waxed , ready to use.
