C19th Italian 'Grand Tour' souvenir bronze sculpture, after the antique, of "Dionysus" , known as "Narcissus". Well-cast verdigris patinated bronze of this iconic statue ,probably by the 'Sommer' or 'Chiurazzi' foundries of Naples. Well-defined musculature and fine detail to the sandals, wine-skin and hair.
After the antique excavated at Pompeii in 1862 ,now in the Museo Nazionale , Naples , Italy .
