Description

Early C19th Regency period copper and brass hot-water urn or samovar.
Decorative copper and brass-mounted hot-water urn of high Regency design . Featuring lion-mask mounts and lion-mask ring handles , together with stylised dolphin surmounts. The body and top decorated with a band of cast decoration, the sides with scroll handles. Unusually complete with its original zinc heater and element . The spout with a classical urn mounted handle , the lift-out interior with conforming urn finials.
Raised on tapering reeded supports with lions-paw feet terminals.
Designed for use on a sideboard or side-table in the dining-room or parlour for making and taking tea.
In excellent original condition .
