'Matched' pair of mid C19th Chinese Qing dynasty hardwood side/hall chairs.
Closely matched pair (minor differences ) of 'huali' chairs with panelled seats, broad-shaped curved slat-backs, and shaped "yoke-back" or "official's-hat" top-rails.
Square section legs joined by stretchers and shaped rails beneath the seat .
Strong ,robust construction of uncomplicated and simplified early period-style design .
Minor differences in design and proportion .
Some water-marks to seat edges, but of good rich colour and patina. Minor shrinkage gaps to panel seats , no splits .
One chair of slightly different colour having been exposed to sun-light.
