Description

Fine early C19th George IV period brass-inlaid rosewood side cabinet/dwarf bookcase with marble top attributed to Gillows of Lancaster.
Wonderfully original 2-door side cabinet fitted with original mirror plates to the door panels enclosing an ebonised interior fitted with 2 adjustable shelves on 'saw-tooth' ladder-racking uprights.
Finely carved and detailed columnar uprights with leaf-carved capitals to the corners , supporting brass inlaid square tablets , the frieze fitted brass line inlay with a central break-front rectangular tablet featuring a panel of fine brass boulle-type brass inlay .
Fine detail throughout with carved 'split-reel' mouldings and conforming returns . Raised on carved fluted tapering 'melon' feet .
The top fitted with its original creamy-white marble top with gently rounded edges.
Bears all the attributes , style and quality of the esteemed and prized cabinet-makers "Gillows of Lancaster and London ", though not stamped .
All original patina and colour with no losses or damage .
Retains original key .
