Late C19th Venetian-style wrought-iron floor standing lamp or lantern .
Skilfully-made wrought-iron standard lamp standing on scrolled tripod-form base .
The glazed lantern top with typical late C17th style decoration , having old wiring to the interior though perhaps conceived for candle use . The lantern glazed with period-style opaque yellowed 'sodium' glass panels.
Of typical Italian Venetian style design , with scroll-work and spiked decoration throughout, wrythen lower part of column and wrythen supports to sides of the lantern .
A useful addition in creating a mood in a period-style decorative scheme.
Old blackened paint finish with some corrosion to surface contributing to the period atmospheric ambiance.
