Mid C19th carved mahogany Chippendale-style ladder-back child's armchair . Well-executed copy of an C18th Chippendale design armchair of scaled-down child-size proportions.
The serpentine shaped top-rail with carved leaf detail and conforming carved decoration to the serpentine 'ladder-back' bars below. The arms with scrolled terminals with carved acanthus-leaf detail carving. The seat-frame with simple period-style moulded edge .
Raised on square-section fore-legs and splayed rear supports , all joined with an 'H' stretcher . Drop-in upholstered seat in need of re-upholstery , can be recovered in fabric of clients choice .
Good dense timber which has achieved an authentic period-style patina.
Excellent condition with no breaks or repairs.
