Description

Pair of early C29th Chinese verdigris bronze lamp-bases of Archaic Shang Dynasty 'Fanglei' design .
Smart pair of incricately-cast bronze lamp-bases imitating ancient Chinese ritual wine or food vessels /vases or 'Fanglei' , from the Archaic Chinese Bronze Age c. 1650 BC.
Such ancient bronze vessels were used for the purposes of ancestor veneration and worship in Chinese culture.
The cast decoration of traditional Chinese archaic style with stylised eyes and mask imagery.
Mounted onto bleached hardwood stands and feet of typical Chinese form , with corresponding wooden 'lids'. All-round cast decoration , of free-standing form .
Well-executed aged verdigris /ancient patination and finish .
Highly decorative pair of stylish lamp-bases.
Re-wired and tested , ready to use.
(Have their original box-shaped silk shades available, though there is some deterioration to the fabric .)
