Description

Interesting and practical brass-bound leather trunk or chest.
Useful decorative leather trunk with hinged lid and padded interior . Reinforced bridle-stitched leather corners and patinated brass strapping and hasp locks . The sides fitted with stitched and padded leather loop strap handles . The top mounted with large dome-headed brass studs .
Decorated to sides and top with Chinese characters and calligraphy (apparently translating as "Vetinary") . The front decorated with an applied cut-leather stylised flower-head applique, the keyhole cover-plates of a matching design .
Could be used for a multiple of purposes . The interior would hold approximately 20 bottles of wine vertically or a large quantity of magazines, newspapers ,toys ,DVDs , CDs ,slippers ,boots etc etc etc .
The leather having obtained a rich waxed patina with only minor scuffs and water stains . The hinge of the lid in excellent order .
