Fine and decorative pair of C19th Chinoiserie lacquer cabinets-on-stands.
Pair of high quality mid C19th English Chinoiserie lacquer-work cabinets on ebonised Chinese-style stands . The 'handed' cabinets each fitted a single panel door enclosing fitted interiors with graduated drawers. Canted corner design fitted with three-quarter decorative brass gallery tops . Typical Chinoiserie fantasy landscape designs to each surface with gilded highlights.
The stands of tapering square-legged form with Chinese style open-fret friezes and brackets .
One cabinet with simple graduated drawers , the other with drawers fitted with lids enclosing removable trays . The drawers of both cabinets with quality cedar wood linings and fitted with brass pull knobs to the fronts. The panelled doors each fitted with locks and a key .
In excellent original 'country-house' condition, minor rubbing to the ebonised loose stands , and minor wear to the lacquer work , and marks to the top surfaces commensurate with age and use.
Superb pair of decorative cabinets to bring exoticism, style , credence and symmetry to a period interior.
