Pair of early C19th Regency period mahogany sabre-leg armchairs.
Elegant pair of well-proportioned Regency period armchairs of restrained design, raised on sabre-type forelegs , with scroll arms and drop -in seats. The top rails with an ovoid moulded-edge inset panel with figured veneer detail . The lumbar bars below with a corresponding design.
The end returns of the scroll arms and top of the shaped uprights each applied with a decorative carved and turned patera .
Both chairs in good original condition with only minor marks and wear commensurate with age and use . Strong, sturdy frames with no breaks or repairs.
Good original patina and polish. Cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
The seats covered in clean , recent fabric. Could be recovered in client's own fabric at cost price if desired.
Useful pair of dining carver chairs , or for use with a desk or library table.
