Early C19th Dutch mahogany 'teestoof' or kettle-warmer of neo-classical design .
Interesting Dutch mahogany stand originally designed to hold hot coals upon which to rest a kettle , now practical as a stylish jardiniere or wine-cooler for a period setting.
Raised upon tapering square section supports with original brass ball feet . The body of canted-corner square form , the panels and uprights all with 'chevron' cross-banding . The sides fitted with original cast-brass circular plates with ring handles for portability.
The base fitted with a single drawer with it's original brass knob pull handle. The body fitted with a lift-out brass liner.
Would work well as a wine-cooler or bottle-store .
In excellent original condition with original patina and colour. Has been cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
