Late C19th Japanese brass model of a Torii or architectural gateway.
Well-modelled cast-brass model of a traditional Japanese Shinto shrine gate. These gates at a shrine entrance symbolically mark the transition from the mundane to the sacred.
The architectural structural model depicted with multi-clawed snarling dragons coiled around each upright end . The brass gate with an etched 'cloud' design all over . Mounted on a removable ebonised wooden stand .
