Early C19th French mahogany Empire design mahogany console table .
Elegant Empire period mahogany console table with its original white and grey flecked Carrara marble top and inset mirror back. High-quality gilt brass mounts to the uprights of classical flaming torch design .
The frieze set with a single full-length drawer with a fine Medusa mask or goddess ,elaborate central gilt mount with floriate detail surround. The underside of the drawer edge carved with twin concealed 'finger grips' for ease of opening .
The concave platform base with inset original grey mercury mirror plate behind. Some atmospheric aging and 'foxing' to the mirror plate .
In excellent original condition with a rich patina and colour. The marble with minor stains and marks commensurate with age and use . Minor chip to underside edge of marble top .
