Fine quality early C20th Chinese silver-gilt and enamel decorated caddy of casket.
Superb quality silver-gilt filigree-work cylindrical lobed hexagonal design caddy with finely applied enamel , coral and turquoise cabochon decoration. The lobed removable lid surmounted with an intricate filigree design knop with a central coral cabochon.
The lobed design filigree work silver-gilt body with beautifully executed raised coloured enamel-work featuring birds amongst flowering branches, all set with random coral and turquoise cabochons.
The interior with highly-polished silver-gilt finish .
Produced in the style of the well -respected Canton retail silversmith Cutshing who was renowned for creating enamelled and jewelled filigree items in the C19th for the European Royal households , the Russian Imperial court , Arab Sultanates and Indian Maharajahs' palaces.
The base stamped Impressed mark 'SILVER' , and has been tested to contain 875-900 percent silver purity
content.
In superb original condition with no damage, losses or repairs.
