Decorative C19th William IV period mahogany occasional or lamp table with rare and unusual inset specimen marble "turtle-stone" top.
Circular-topped mahogany table raised on a faceted tapering column with a moulded collar onto a tri-form base on compressed bun feet . The circular moulded edge top with a fine geological specimen of a 'septarian nodule' or "turtle-stone" roundel.
The geological phenomena of septarian nodules, were formed from Oxford Clay during the Cretaceous Period around 100 million years ago .
A rare , decorative and practical table in excellent original condition with no damage or repairs. The stone top of striking form and colour-way . The mahogany base and frame of the table in good original condition with a gently faded colour and patina.
