Description

Elegant late C18th George III period mahogany bow-fronted 2-door side cabinet of restrained design and rare narrow proportions.
Smart late Georgian period bow-front 2-door cabinet enclosing a single shelf interior . Box-wood strung edges and narrow cross-banded details , with a consistent faded mellow ,honey-coloured patina . Raised on original turned toupe feet . The doors fitted with original brass bolts , lock and escutcheon (key lacking). The upright stile ends with box-wood line inlay .
Exceptionally shallow depth and elegant low proportions with a well-swept bow outline. The ends with unusual and ingeniously designed inverted canted returns which draw the eye to create an illusion of added elegance and slim proportions.
The reverse of twin panelled construction.
In superb original untouched condition.
