Description

C18th George II period mahogany kneehole desk of small proportions.
Mid C18th mahogany desk of mellow , faded patina fitted with original brass-ware . The moulded-edge top with good faded patination, having some minor marks and imperfections commensurate with age , use and purpose .
Fitted with brass-drop handles on solid shaped brass backplates. The centre with an elegantly-shaped arch above the recessed single-door cupboard fitted with original shaped brass escutcheon plate and 'H' shaped hinges . The centre flanked by 3 short drawers to each side . The long top drawer fitted with a decorative shaped brass escutcheon, original steel lock and working key . All drawers with quality oak linings and of dove-tailed construction. The reverse fitted with the original oak boards .
The whole raised on original bracket feet .
A useful small-scale mid C18th period desk ,which could be used in a drawing room or in a bedroom as a dressing table.
Has been cleaned and waxed in our workshops.
