Early C19th Regency period mahogany breakfast , dining or centre table with rosewood cross-banding in original condition.
Rectangular figured mahogany breakfast table in wonderful untouched original condition, with a broad band of rosewood cross-banding to the edge .
Raised on an elegant turned support and quadrupite base with swept sabre-type supports with reeded detail and hipped acanthus leaf carving terminating on bold carved claw feet with original concealed brass castors.
Fitted with an unusual original brass support tilting mechanism and support to the underside of the top and the block of the base . The underside of the top fitted with the original gilt-brass release and handle . The edge surrounded with a shallow frieze.
The strikingly-figured mahogany top having achieved a glorious faded , dry colour and surface patination to the original polish , contrasting with the exotic rosewood banded surround .
Minor historic water-marks and blemishes to the top commensurate with age , use and purpose .
