Description

Late C18th George III period decorated pine mule chest in rare original condition.
Faux burr-wood painted decoration in rare complete original state . The lift-up lid chest fitted with a full-length base drawer with knob-pull handles, and an interior lidded candle or salt box . Fitted with all original metal-ware , raised on original bracket feet , the interior with original papered lining .
In good sound usable condition, the lid with some historic wear, cracks and marks commensurate with age, use and purpose . A scarce survivor in its original folk-art vernacular painted decoration to simulate burr yew or walnut timber .
