Description

Early C19th Regency period rosewood and mahogany glazed ‘dwarf’ bookcase cabinet.
Smart marble-topped 2-door glazed panel bookcase raised on original gilt-brass ball feet . The twin 3-panel bar-glazed doors each fitted with unusual original decorative gilded-brass mouldings around the glass . The rosewood-banded doors fitted with original brass hinges , bolts , reeded brass dividing-strip , lock , escutcheon and original working steel key .
The ends of the bookcase of figured mahogany with corresponding rosewood cross-banding .The top fitted with a removable original variegated marble ‘Granito Rossi ‘ slab top , the interior with two original adjustable shelves .
Original panelled back.
A high quality bookcase of elegant small proportions in excellent original condition.
