Description

Fine early C19th Regency period mahogany open wine-cooler in the manner of Gillows .
Flame mahogany angular panel-sided open wine-cooler ,inspired by the form of an ancient classical Roman or Grecian cistern , attributed to the esteemed cabinet-making firm “Gillows of Lancaster and London” . Squared corners with moulded uprights , the edge of the top with a gently rolled profile , and fitted with the original lead-lined interior.
Raised on inverted ‘lobed’ turned feet fitted with original concealed brass-wheeled castors stamped “Cope’s Patent” .
In excellent original condition with a rich colour and patina.
