Exceptional large-scale vase decorated in the traditional Imari palette with all-over finely-painted detailed decoration. The subtlety ribbed tapering ovoid body with large vignettes or cartouches of landscape and floral decoration .
The domed cover with corresponding decoration and surmounted by a well-modelled seated mythical lion-dog .
In excellent original condition with no damage, breaks or repairs.
The traditional bright blues , red and oranges of the Imari palette together with gilded highlights offering an arresting and large scale exotic decorative image .
