Late C18th / early C19th European Continental walnut commode chest .
Well-proportioned figured-walnut veneered 4-drawer commode with finely carved vertical decoration to the canted corners . Raised on a stepped shallow plinth base and original turned compressed bun feet .
The graduated drawers all fitted with original shaped brass escutcheons and tear-drop handles with star-shaped back-plates The pine-lined dove-tail jointed graduated drawers all retaining their original steel locks ( no key ) .
The edge of the top with end-grain veneered moulding to the sectionally-veneered �slab� top . The verso fitted with the original panel boarded back .
An imposing chest in original condition throughout with an excellent consistent patina and warm colour.
